Running isn’t just for the super-fit. Anyone can give running a go, and if even if you’ve never felt the urge to go for a run in your life, there are lots of ways to get started. Running is a fantastic activity for building your general fitness and losing weight, and can also help strengthen your muscles and build stronger bones.
If you’re just starting out you can run alone, or you can buddy up with a friend or family member for moral support. For those looking to get social, there are also loads of running groups and organised group runs happening across the county on a regular basis. It really doesn’t matter how fast or how far you go – just getting those legs moving can make a real difference to your health and wellbeing. Please seek medical advice if you’re unsure about exercising with an existing health condition.
