England Athletics, in partnership with British Blind Sport, have developed a training and licence scheme for runners wishing to become guides and a national database of guide runners known as ‘Find a Guide’ to help visually impaired individuals search for licensed Guide Runners near them.
There are guide runners of all abilities, so whether you’re just getting started or a seasoned runner, the database allows you to find the right guide for you in your area using the postcode search.
All the guide runners are licensed by England Athletics after attending a Sight Loss Awareness and Guide Running Workshop, and clearing a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check.
