Badminton is a fun, active, social sport which provides a full body workout. It helps strengthen the heart muscles, improves blood flow and can help you stay fit. Apart from physical benefits there are mental advantages of playing badminton too.

We caught up with Priti to find out how playing badminton every Friday evening has improved her wellbeing and helped her connect with people.

Priti told us “I got involved in badminton, some of it because I needed connecting with people but also I was mindful of the fact that if I didn’t do something, you know I do have high blood pressure and this has really helped with that. The impact of this, is not just the badminton, but actually it’s the coming together as maybe mums, not just women from ethnic minorities but other social roles.  That’s what it’s achieved as well.  On a Friday night I’d rather be here than anywhere else”.
