Walking Netball is a slower version of the game we all love; it is netball, but at a walking pace. It has been designed so that anyone can play it regardless of age or fitness level. From those who have dropped out of the sport they love due to serious injury, those who believed they had hung up their netball trainers many years ago to those who want to try something new. Walking Netball really is for everyone.

We caught up with Christine and Tracy to find out how the walking netball sessions offered by Age Uk Faversham & Sittingbourne is helping with their physical, mental and social wellbeing.

Christine told us “I suffer from a back problem which I hope to get sorted but it’s nice to come here because you don’t have any impact on your back as such. The people hear are lovely, the ladies are lovely, they’re very supportive.”

Tracy commented “My father died and I retired from my job and the mental wellbeing has been great for me and the physical exercise is great. You get that camaraderie and yeah, I’ve made some great friends.”
