Wild with Wheels provide inclusive and accessible interactive Nature Walks. The supported walks are suitable for a range of physical, mental and neurodiverse needs.
Each week we meet at different locations and explore the local countryside and coast, including Dover Castle, Pegwell Bay, Kearsney Abbey plus many more. Throughout the year we run a series of 8 nature walks for FREE. Booking is essential as we need to understand your individual needs.
Who can join our free walks?
We welcome adults and children who are wheelchair and mobility scooter users. Our nature walks are also suitable for people with mobility limitations, chronic illnesses and hidden disabilities, hearing/sight impairments, neurodiverse/learning disabilities.
Wild with Wheels runs on a Wednesday in various locations around the Dover District in 6 to 8 week blocks.
There’s currently no charge for these walks or activities as we are assisted by funding from our supporters Kent Downs AONB, DEFRA and GOGA (Get Out & Get Active in Action, Dover).
We offer 1:1 or 2:1 support for people with higher needs. Wild With Wheels understands that our participants have varied needs and restrictions. So we offer a bespoke service to ensure that we cater for everyone. We can also provide additional equipment for several mobility and sensory limitations to help your independent interaction with the world of nature. If you have any disabilities or impairments/limitations that may affect your ability to take part, we are happy to help and support in any way we can or if you need any extra additional support for physical mobility, sensory sight/hearing or neurodiverse, please get in touch on 07787 181 550 or email Info@wildwithwheels.com
The GOGA in Action project has been funded by the National Lottery Community Fund to support, promote and improve physical and mental wellbeing, confidence and self-esteem while developing a variety of opportunities for disabled and non-disabled people to be active together.
