Group of people cycling along path

Sheppey Community Cycling Club, set up by Cycling UK and Sheppey Matters, is a friendly club to help encourage more local people to enjoy cycling and to travel more by bike.

Our rides are at a gentle pace and the routes are planned to include cycle paths and quieter roads where possible. If you are a beginner looking for a completely off-road ride to help you get started, please let us know as we’re happy to organise something if there is demand. If you don’t feel confident enough yet or you want to learn to ride, we also offer one-to-one support for beginners and even Group lead rides for beginners.

Most bikes are suitable, but we don’t recommend skinny road tyres as there is lots of gravel and sometimes glass on the paths. We have bikes and helmets to loan free of charge but only a limited supply, so please ask about borrowing a bike and helmet at the time of booking.
