Community Cycle Clubs are at the heart of Cycling UK’s programme to bring about sustained change and to encourage more people to cycle. A Community Cycle Club (CCC) is a group of people who come together to do cycling for whatever purpose they choose. They run in all sorts of places including with older people’s groups, youth groups, workplaces, refugee charities, mosques and veterans’ groups. People who joined a CCC reported they were cycling more often, starting to meet physical activity guidelines and feeling healthier, happier and better connected to their communities.

The following Community Cycle Clubs are open to the general public and offer regular friendly and inclusive cycling activities for anyone in the local area:

Stone, Dartford

Stone Social Cycling Club run by Stone Parish Council meet every Sunday 2pm at Lizzie’s Café for a leisurely bike ride on quiet roads and green spaces in and around the local area. Central Dartford

Dartford Cyclety Club are a friendly group and run a monthly club ride of between 10 and 15 miles ‘go at your own pace’ with a coffee stop included. Visit their Dartford Cyclety Club Facebook page or email  cycletyfun@gmail.com to find out more and book your place on an upcoming ride.

Faversham

Age UK Faversham & Sittingbourne recently launched fortnightly Community Cycling Sessions running on alternate Tuesday morning 10-11am. A gentle guided & social session to support getting back on a bike after a long break or ill health or for those just starting out all within the confines of Faversham Rec. Sheerness

Sheppey Community Cycle Club meet alternate Saturday 10am mornings outside Sheppey Matters for a leisurely cycle of approximately 45-50 minutes with plenty of stops and usually time for a cuppa at the end. Run by volunteers they also host ad-hoc bike fixing and adult cycle tuition and all details can be found on their Facebook page: Sheppey CCC Facebook
