Genesis Football Medway

Genesis Football Medway is an exciting collaborative project between churches and Christian organisations in Medway, Medway Night Shelter, Medway Sport, Anchorians Football Club and Ambassadors Football.

Our aim is to engage with marginalised and vulnerable adults, those homeless and vulnerably housed to see an increase in fitness, aspiration, and positive relationships through a weekly opportunity to play football, share a meal together and for those interested, an opportunity to explore faith.

Football is the draw but also the tool, as many situations arise in training and matches that can be used to challenge negative behaviour and reinforce good character. We aim to support players in setting goals to become the best they can be whilst encouraging and acknowledging every small progression along the way. For many, Genesis is the place they make new friends, explore faith, find structure, and discover opportunities to progress.

Being part of Genesis football has been fantastic, and seeing how everyone is benefitting from it socially, physically and mentally is brilliant. It’s such a valuable local scheme for people in Medway, and I’m glad that Anchorians have been able to be part of this opportunity for the community – Anchorians Coach Andy Brown.

Session Details

When: Every Thursday 10am to 12pm
