Free, in person 12 week seated exercise course at Millmead Community Centre for over 50’s to increase and maintain their strength, cardio health, flexibility, balance, delivered by Dane Valley Residents Association.

This 12 week course is a unique opportunity to work with a personal trainer with 25 years experience to improve and set your personal health goals. It is designed specifically for people new to exercise, with more than one health condition or people recovering from illness or injury that want to be healthier and live better.

It will be a chance to meet a new supportive group that are trying to be healthier together.

The venue and class is accessible. All exercises will have options to be done seated but one of your goals maybe to work on standing up from a chair more securely or being able to slide forward on a chair by the end of the 12 weeks.

The class will work on and measure the process of exercises that will help you get less out of breath, improve your balance and feel stronger to reduce the risk of falling. We will look at stretching and improving flexibility to reduce joint pain.

There will be supporting You Tube videos that you can practice between sessions or continue after the 12 weeks.

All drivers, care-givers, support workers and moral support friends welcome to join in or watch. There is also space and books if you need to bring children with you.

Priority will be given to Dane Valley residents and residents that can’t afford to pay for classes.

Venue info: The programmes are fully accessible for all needs. There is the 34 bus that runs until 7.30pm Monday – Saturday and plenty of parking outside.
