Sessions are delivered in a supportive group environment and are tailored to individuals who are currently inactive or face barriers to being physically active.

Programme 1 – Herons Leisure Centre
The facilities are accessible by wheelchair, with step-free access, accessible changing rooms and toilets, and blue badge parking available. Locations are community-based and accessible via local public transport routes.
Programme 2 – Whitstable Pools and Fitness
The facility is accessible by wheelchair, with step-free access, accessible changing rooms and toilets, and blue badge parking. The site is well located within the community and accessible via public transport.
Programme 3 – Kingsmead Pool and Fitness
The facility is accessible by wheelchair, with step-free access, accessible changing rooms and toilets, and blue badge parking. The site is centrally located and accessible via public transport.
In addition, up to 2 hours of free car parking is available, supporting participants who rely on private transport.

Participants can register for the Active Life Over 50 – Strength and Balance Programme by completing the online referral form.
Once the form has been submitted, the Programme Lead will review the referral and contact the participant directly to arrange a screening conversation. This will confirm:
- Availability for the selected sessions
- Suitability based on programme eligibility criteria
- Any support needs or health considerations
Following this, eligible participants will be offered a place and receive confirmation of their allocated programme, including start date, location, and session details.
