Three programmes for those aged 50+ delivered by GRASS Cliftonville CIC:

Programme 1 – Women-only circuit training sessions will focus on building muscle strength and functional fitness through low-impact, resistance-based exercises. Activities will support everyday movements such as sit-to-stand, reaching, stepping, and controlled lifting, helping participants to maintain independence and reduce falls risk.

Programme 2 – Yoga sessions focusing on balance, flexibility, postural control, and joint mobility. Sessions will incorporate standing and chair-supported exercises to improve stability, confidence, and range of movement, particularly for participants at risk of reduced mobility.

Programme 3 – Gardening fit – supervised gardening-based activity sessions at The Oval, using light to moderate physical tasks to promote strength, balance, coordination, and mobility. These sessions will be framed as functional fitness, encouraging natural movement, social interaction, and engagement with the outdoor environment.
