Ashford Community Woodland Group

The Ashford Community Woodland group look after 35 acres of woodland and meadow at the top of Singleton Hill in Ashford. The habitats at the woodland need looking after, so the group keep active by holding Task Days on the first Saturday each month.

All volunteers are welcome, you just need to turn up, wearing suitable clothes, at the car park which is at the highest point on Singleton Hill (Please note it’s NOT the Environment Centre car park).

The group work for about three hours from 10am, but volunteers can stay for shorter periods if that’s more convenient. Drinks can be purchased at the Environment Centre cafe or brought with them.

The work is varied. It includes tree planting and pruning, litter picking, raking up mown grass, repairing noticeboards, helping look after Highland Cattle, if and when they’re on site in the autumn, and other tasks.

When: First Saturday of each month, at 10am for three hours
