New PlayZones: We are looking for local clubs, coaches & activity providers
Medway Sport is inviting expressions of interest from anyone who would like to deliver activity at one of our brand-new Medway PlayZones at The Strand in Gillingham, Maidstone Road in Chatham and Deangate Sports Ground in Hoo.
PlayZones are high‑quality, accessible outdoor spaces designed for community sport and physical activity. They’re safe, inclusive, floodlit areas where local residents can enjoy multisport sessions, informal play, and community‑led activity – all supporting participation, wellbeing, and positive behaviour change across Medway.
These new facilities will offer netball, basketball, cricket and football, plus the option for fitness classes.
We’re looking to connect with local sports clubs, coaches, community activity providers and organisations who would be interested in delivering sessions in these new community facilities.

The three PlayZone sites will be established at The Strand in Gillingham, Deangate Ridge in Hoo and Maidstone Road Sports Ground in Chatham to provide people with access to high quality grassroots sports facilities.
The grant has been awarded from the Premier League, The FA and Government via the Foundation, and building work is set to begin in the coming weeks.
PlayZones are safe, inclusive and accessible outdoor mini pitches that can be used for football and other sports, and the usage will be designed following recent public consultation with Medway residents.
