Summer of Sport 2025
Medway Sport offers free or reduced cost sport sessions for young people and families to encourage active and healthy lifestyles.
All sessions are led by qualified coaches, leaders or activators. All equipment is provided.
They often work with partners to deliver these sessions, and funded projects can be with withdrawn from programmes, and replaced with alternative options.
They would also highly recommend contacting your local sports club, who run lots of opportunities to get involved in sport in Medway.

Muslim women’s yoga with female instructor – Does not run during school holidays
- Location: Ash Studio, Academy of Woodlands, Arts and Sports Centre, Gillingham
- Date: every Monday (excludes bank holidays and school holidays)
- Time: 11.30am to 12.15pm
- Cost: free.
Walking Tennis
- Location: Maidstone Road Sports Ground Tennis Courts
- Date: every Monday (excludes bank holidays from 30 June)
- Time: 11.30am to 12.30pm
- Cost: free.
Walking Tennis is for anyone that wants to play tennis, but at their own pace. No running or jumping and you can let the ball bounce twice. Less speed but just as much fun! Ideal for anybody looking to build their confidence, returning from injury, or would just like a bit more time getting to the ball.

Walking Tennis, is an inclusive variation of the game. It’s adaptive rules makes it an enjoyable experience for players.
Cardio Tennis with Katie B Tennis in the Park
- Location: The Strand, Gillingham, Kent, ME7 1TT
- Date: every Wednesday (from June 18)
- Time: 10am to 11am
- Cost: free.
With thanks to funding from Active Thames, we’ll be offering the opportunity to take part in a regular Cardio Tennis session which promises to be a high-energy, fun, and social workout for all ages and abilities. Set to music, the session combines tennis drills with fitness activities, so you’ll hit plenty of balls and get your heart pumping.
